Arlene Beatrice Walberg was born December 16, 1926 to Gustav and Amanda (Opsahl) Walberg at home near French Lake, Minnesota. Arlene grew up on the family farm and attended school in Annandale. On April 20, 1946 Arlene was united in marriage to Walter “Wally” Robert Buranen in Minneapolis. They made their home in Minneapolis until 1995. During this time, Arlene was a factory worker for Northwest Automatics for 32 years. In addition to her job outside the home, Arlene strived to provide a loving home for their 5 children. In 1995, Arlene and Wally moved to Kimball. Upon Wally’s death in 2007, Arlene relocated to Annandale. Arlene enjoyed creating embroidery projects, and music, whether it be listening to polka music, playing the accordion, or dancing. While she will fondly be remembered as a wonderful cook and baker, her family will always treasure the love she gave them.
