Anthony Huikko Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Huikko, age 34, of Maple Lake died Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte, CA after a hard fought battle with luekemia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2021 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake. A walk-through visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 20 and 8:30-9:30 a.m., Thursday, January 21, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake. Please note, mask, distancing and capacity restrictions will effect attendance. Services will be livestreamed on Tony's online obituary page located on the funeral home website.

Anthony John Huikko was born on December 1st, 1986 in Buffalo, MN to Charles and Debora (Hutchinson) Huikko. He was raised in Maple Lake, attending Buffalo and Maple Lake schools and graduating from Annandale High School in 2005. After graduation, he went to work with Huikko Plumbing of Buffalo. He furthered his plumbing career by getting his Journeyman license in 2015. Tony earned a brown belt in Karate. On October 4, 2018, God took Tony's hand in sobriety; he enjoyed going to meetings and the fellowship afterwards. When God called Tony home, he was 2.5 years sober of which Tony was most proud of. He enjoyed fishing, frisbee golf, bags, dice and hunting. Tony cherished time spent cooking special meals for family gatherings. He loved bowling, golfing and spending time with friends and family.

Tony is survived by his parents, Charles and Debora Huikko from Maple Lake; grandparents, Jack and Jean Hutchinson of Buffalo; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Frances Huikko; uncle, Dean Baker; aunt, Selma Hutchinson; and cousins, Reed Williamson, Scottie Capko and Rebecca Schoenbauer.

The casket bearers will be Curtis Kempenich, Erik Capko, Dale Machovski, Michael Machovski, Matt Huikko, Jerry Huikko, John Huikko and Cole Trager. Honorary casket bearers will be Nick Halloran, Eric Arola, Mike Stumph, Kyle Foss, Alex Blizil, Chad Walhowe and Scott Trattles. Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
