Allen Lee Morford

Allen L. Morford, age 75, of Eden Prairie, died Friday, March 4, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society in Inver Grove Heights after a 2-year battle with cancer.

Allen was born October 21, 1946, in Hazen, ND to Robert and Pandora (Lang) Morford. He grew up in Bismarck, ND, until the family moved to St. Cloud where he graduated with the Class of 1964 from St. Cloud Tech. Allen served in the army on the front lines in the Vietnam War. While on leave, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Gay at St. Victoria Catholic Church in Victoria, MN. After his honorable discharge at the rank of Captain, Allen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota. He worked for Dean Witter as an investment broker until 1987, when he started his own investment firm, Investors First. He retired in 2017. Al enjoyed fishing, traveling, and riding shotgun in the RV with Jeanne.

Allen is survived by his wife, Jeanne of Eden Prairie; son, Scott (Erin Hendel) of Missoula, MT; granddaughters, Ivy and Stella; brothers and sisters, Raymond (Bonnie) of St. Cloud, Jerry of Sedalia, MO, Glen (Vikki) of Sauk Rapids, Marlene (Art) Dingmann of Annandale, Betty (Brad) Moulton of Rush City, Janice (Kevin) Gans of Sauk Rapids and Richard (Trisha) of Sauk Rapids; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie with Fr. Jim Devorak as the Celebrant. Committal Service with full military honors will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area 2. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 10 at Huber Funeral Home in Eden Prairie and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral chapel in Eden Prairie. A reception will follow the burial on Friday at the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel. Memorials are preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale and Huber Funeral Home of Eden Prairie.
