Willis "Bill" D. Johnson, age 91, of Rogers, formerly of Annandale and Minneapolis, died Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Memorial service will be held at a later date with burial to following at Pleasant View Cemetery. Service date and time are pending and will be updated online when they are available.

Bill was born on April 17, 1935, in Baudette, Minnesota, to Alvin and Nellie Johnson. He graduated from Baudette High School in 1953. Following his graduation, he honorably served in the US Army from June 1953 to May 1956.

Upon his military discharge, Bill married Faye "Dickie" Nelson on June 9, 1957, at The Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. Together, they raised their family in the Minneapolis area, later making their home on Clearwater Lake and Granite Lake near Annandale before settling in Rogers, where they spent the past 10 years. Dickie passed away in May 2026, after nearly 69 years of marriage.

Bill started working as a mechanic at a Standard Oil station at 19th and Johnson in NE Minneapolis. He soon purchased, along with his wife, Dickie, the station and expanded the business where they employed many family and friends over the years. Together, they built a successful business and lifelong relationships. The name changed from Standard Oil to Amoco, but the people and connections remained. Later, Bill continued to enjoy spending time with his fellow members of the Minnesota Service Station Association.

Bill loved fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and traveling with friends. He liked sharing a Manhattan and BS'ing with his buddies. He also had a passion for having Santa Clauses painted on windows, vehicles, and just about anything else he could find.

Bill is survived his children, Todd (Chris) of Orlando, FL, Jay (Dawn) of Sarasota, FL, Judy (Kirk) VanSlooten of New Brighton, Jeanette (Ernest) Lepore of Mounds View, and Jeanne (Michael) Siok of Weatherford, TX; grandchildren, Garett and Blake Johnson, Dayna (Andrew) Barta, Dustin (Roz) Johnson, Erin (Will) Matthews, Carissa (Andrew) Daly, Shelby (Brandon) Van Martin, Nicholas (Naomi) Lepore, Gina (David) Stirtz, Ryan Siok, Samantha (Jacob) Belding, and Brandon (Ariel) Siok; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Derek, Mady, Mara, Charlie, Nora, Maeve, Tony, Lexi, Marcus, Liam, Paul, Reagan, and Joanna; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Faye "Dickie" Johnson; and siblings, Clifford Johnson, Valda Setterholm, Donna Mae Purvis, and Baby Boy Johnson.

Bill's grandchildren will serve as urnbearers. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
