Willis Wayne Fischer, 74, of Clearwater, MN died Friday, November 9, 2007 in his home surrounded by his family.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kimball. Rev. David Milz will officiate and private family burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Willis Wayne Fischer was born May 2, 1933 at the family farm in Maine Prairie Township to Tjabe 'Jake' and Olive (Cossairt) Fischer. Wayne was united in marriage to Janyce Brown on June 2, 1951 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2004. Wayne spent his time working on his farm, retiring in 1997 after 54 years of farming.
Wayne found great enjoyment fishing, playing cards, going to the casino, and his many trips out west. Wayne's greatest enjoyment in life was his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Fairhaven Lions.
He is survived by his special companion, Toots Capes of Kimball; children, Mick (Mary) Fischer of Kimball, Wendy (Art) Gwin of Redmond, OR, Larry (Sara) Fischer of Clearwater, Barb (Lyle) Lingofelt of Cold Spring, Sandy (David) Loch of Brainerd and Ron (Celia) Fischer of Little Falls; brothers, Alvin (Vernis) Fischer of Kimball, Dale (Shirley) Fischer of Clearwater and Sherrill (Mary) Fischer of Waite Park; 18 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 9 step-great grandchildren. Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Janyce; parents; daughter-in-law, Eirene; sister, Lorraine and her husband, Leland.
Nancy Lidberg will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball
