Obituary
William M. Spielmann, age 66, of Maple Lake formerly of the Twin Cities passed away suddenly near Bemidji on November 4, 2012 doing what he loved to do; spending time in the woods with nature and his God.
Visitation will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. with a Prayer Service held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake with Deacon Ron Freeman officiating.
William Michael Spielmann was born March 10, 1946 in Minneapolis to Michael and Dolores (Hallman) Spielmann. He served his Country during the Viet Nam War as a member of the US Navy and graduated from Dunwoody Institute. Bill was an electronic technician for Control Data for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, woodworking, traveling, reading and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary of Maple Lake, children Collette (Pat) Snyder of Rosemount, Eric (Amy) Spielmann of St. Cloud, stepson Jerry Tyrpa of St. Paul, and his beautiful grandchildren and the light of his life who knew him as Papa: Tarra & Brittany Snyder, Abby Voigt, Will, Clare & Wyatt Spielmann, James, Sam & Jonathan Tyrpa. Bill is also survived by his siblings Pat (Al) Elsenpeter of Maple Lake, Mary Ann Smith of Sartell, Joann (Dan) Schmit of Becker, Michele (Bob) Fobbe of Maple Lake, John (Jane) Spielmann of Maple Lake, Marnie (Sean) O'Byrne of Richfield, many nieces & nephews, his Brotherhood, his AA groups, and many other family & friends. We will miss his laugh, his stories, his wisdom, and his love. We are all better people for knowing Bill. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepson Teddy Tyrpa, and brother in law Pat Smith.
The honorary pallbearers will be The Brotherhood and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
