William A. Mavencamp, age 88 died Monday, January 26, 2015 at his home in Maple Lake with his family at his side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Parish Prayers will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
William Aloysius Mavencamp was born January 19, 1927 in Maple Lake to Henry and Amelia (Latour) Mavencamp. He graduated from Maple Lake Public Schools with the Class of 1944 and lived his entire life in Maple Lake. Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. On April 14, 1948 he was united in marriage to Eileen Mares at St. Timothy and she preceded him in death in 1999. On January 12, 2001 he married Cecelia (Davis) Pribyl at St. Timothy and she preceded him in death in 2011. He married Katherine (Granlund) Elsenpeter on July 27, 2011 at St. Timothy. Bill was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake, the Minnesota Aviation Trades Association, Maple Lake American Legion Post 131 and the Maple Lake VFW Post 7664. His love was farming and flying. He also enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife Katherine Mavencamp; 8 children & their spouses Bill & Bonnie of Maple Lake, Randy & Marie of Maple Lake, Denise & Cary Kramber of Conyers, GA, Nancy & Curt VanSickle of Fernandina Beach, FL , Joe & Karla of Maple Lake, Pat & Judy of Maple Lake, Janel & Todd Swanson of Daniel Island, SC and Marcia Evenson & her fiancé Greg Menth of Maple Lake; daughter-in-law Marlene Mavencamp of Maple Lake; 27 grandchildren Greg, Ted, Jeani, Tammi, Troy, Todd, Jennifer, Eric, Neal, Ryan, Jared, Parker, Mark, Brian, Nick, Donnie, Andy, Scott, Kristi, Doug, Tyler, Alec, Sawyer, Jasonia, Montana, Lorenzo and Shawna; 21 great grandchildren; and siblings, Shirley Sherrard of St. Cloud, Mary Elliot of Chaska, Pete (Charlene) of Maple Lake, Jack of Oregon, Barbara Koshiol of Clearwater, Kathleen (Tom) Mooney of Maple Lake, and Emily (Ken) Rachel of Maple Lake. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry & Amelia; spouses Eileen and Cecelia; son Michael; grandson Christopher; great granddaughter Kesha; and sister Genevieve Arritt.
The pallbearers will be Greg, Ted, Scott, Troy and Mark Mavencamp, Jared VanSickle, Alec Swanson and Neal Kramber. The Resurrection Choir, Marge Pavlik and Paul Stokman will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
