William A. DeBoer, age 81, of 12863 Crofoot Ave. NW, Monticello died Thursday, July 31, 2003 at St. Benedict's Center, St. Cloud.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2003 at the Silver Creek Community Church with Rev. Robert VandeVord officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Creek Township, Wright County. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to services on Saturday. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Friday. Memorials are preferred to the Silver Creek Community Church.
William Alfred DeBoer was born January 8, 1922 to William and Martha (Van DeMeer) DeBoer in Pease, MN where he grew up and attended school. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the 526th Ordinance from 1942-1945. On September 25, 1947 in Anoka he was united in marriage to Sophie Weidema. In 1952 Bill and Sophie moved to the Silver Creek area where they farmed until retiring in 1994. He was a member and very active in the Silver Creek Community Church serving as an Elder and Deacon many years. He also was a member of the Clearwater American Legion Post #323 and the Maple Lake Creamery Board. Among his enjoyments in life were fast pitch softball, fishing, gardening, and most of all his very special grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sophie of Monticello; 2 children & their spouses, Donald & Cheryl DeBoer of Monticello, Linda & John Veches of Maple Lake; brothers & their wives, Walter & Nancy DeBoer of Hawarden, IA, Ernest & Arlene DeBoer of Wayzata; sisters in law, Rena DeBoer of Milaca, Margaret DeBoer of Pease; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Sam, Henry, and Alfred.

Pallbearers will be Ron and Mark DeBoer, Jack Veches, Chris Holm, Scott Weidema,
and Keith Schermer.
