Wilfred J. `Sandy` Paumen, age 92, of Maple Lake died Saturday, February 28, 2004 at the Annandale Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Rev. Jacob Yali and Deacon Ron Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Chatham Township, Wright County. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Monday.
Wilfred James Paumen was born April 9, 1911 at Maple Lake to John and Margaret (Scherges) Paumen. He married Hazel V. Gagnon June 19, 1935 at Waverly and they farmed for over 40 years, retiring in 1968. Sandy was a member of St. Timothy`s Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, and Fr. O`Brien`s Council Knights of Columbus #3613. He was a founding member of the Wright Saddle Club. He enjoyed family, dancing, card playing, carpentry, woodworking, and horses.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel of Annandale; children & their spouses, Francis & Pat of Fargo, ND, Edward & Nan of Maple Lake, Michael & Beth of Waseca, Charles & Carol of Maple Lake, Judith & Gene Post of Clearwater, Katherine Fagerness of Hudson, WI; 22 grandchildren; and 41 great grandchildren. Six brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
The pallbearers will be Francis, Michael, Charles, Donald, & Lester Paumen, and Gene Post. The Music will be provided by St. Timothy`s Resurrection Choir with Marge Pavlik, organist.
