Wilford S. Sandell, age 90, of South Haven died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at the V.A. Medical Center, St. Cloud where he has been a resident the past four years.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2005 at Lake Union Covenant Church, 74246 CSAH 19, South Haven with Rev. Mike McCain officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Union Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the Church. The arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale. Memorials are preferred the St. Cloud VA Medical Center.

Wilford Stanley Sandell was born May 4, 1915in Kandiyohi County to Frank and Beda (Adams) Sandell. He was raised in South Haven where he attended Sunday school and was confirmed at Lake Union Covenant Church. He married Elaine Erickson January 1, 1942 in Kingston and she preceded him in death on October 20, 1982. Wilford honorably served his Country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed his working life farming, also ice fishing, deer hunting, polka music, auctions, socializing, farm equipment, wildlife, welding and being a handyman.

He is survived by children & their spouses, Gerald Sandell of South Haven, James & Gayle Sandell of Buffalo, Tina & Terry McStotts of Dassel; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister in law, Betty Sandell of South Haven; and his loyal pet dog, Scooter. He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter Mary, brother Franklin, infant twin sisters and an infant brother.

The pallbearers will be Josh, Ryan, & Kallie Sandell, Matt, Dan, and Eric McStotts. The honorary pallbearers will be Lowell Olson, Roger Hendrickson, Robert Schmidt, David Peterson, Marshall Werner, and Gary Sandell. Music for the service will be provided by Marleigh Rumsey and Carol Looman.
