Obituary
Mr. Wilbert L. Wylie, age 70, of Kimball died Sunday, November 16, 2003 at home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at St. John`s Lutheran Church, Kimball with Rev. Dave Milz officiating. Burial will follow in Maine Prairie Cemetery, Kimball. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church. There will be a prayer service 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel in Kimball.
Wilbert LeRoy Wylie was born March 24, 1933 in Watkins to Edmund and Elsie (Schultz) Wylie. He was raised in Kimball and was a 1951 graduate of Kimball High School. On May 9, 1953 he married Vernone M. Muehring. Wilbert farmed and also sold agricultural products for many years; retiring in August of 2003. He lived in Cokato and Gibbon before moving back to Kimball in 1981. He was a member of St. John`s Lutheran Church, Kimball. Wilbert loved his family, fishing, gardening, music, and sports.
Wilbert is survived by his wife, Vernone of Kimball; daughters, sons, and their spouses, Jill (Robert) Wise of New Ulm, Jeff Wylie of Becker, Jon (Melanie) Wylie of Eagan, Julie (Mark) Spurbeck of Eagan, Janet (Kurk) Kramer of Sleepy Eye; sisters and brothers, Hazel Vick of Fridley, Edward (Merle) Wylie of Minnetonka, Harold (Marie) Wylie of Kimball, Dorothy (Douglas) Buystedt of New Hope; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joey; 2 granddaughters, Stephanie and Taylor; sister, Gladys Grossinger; and a brother, James; and 3 sisters that died in childhood.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Wise, Michael Wise, Josh Tibbits, Bruce Fischer, Scott Wylie, Michael Buystedt, Lowell Rieger, and Mark Turtle. The organist for the funeral will be Ruth Fry.
