Wayne J. Pope, age 52, of Kimball died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pearl Lake with Fr. Jerry Nordick and Fr. Luke Steiner officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to services at the church.
Wayne Joseph Pope was born July 21, 1955 in St. Cloud to Wheeler and Laura (Scheeler) Pope. He married Cindy Becker on December 10, 1977 in Redwood Falls. Wayne was a farmer and also owned & operated Pope Drywall for 32 years. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, National Wild Turkey Federation and Ducks Unlimited. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his children and granddaughters, hunting, fishing and four wheeling.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cindy Pope of Waite Park; children, Travis of Kimball, Lindsay (Scott Clark) of St. Cloud, Justin of Kimball and Kylie of Waite Park; granddaughters, Alexis and Isabelle Clark of St. Cloud; parents, Wheeler and Laura Pope of Kimball; brother and sister, Gale (Colleen) Pope and Audrey Pope (Richard Massetti) both of St. Cloud.
The pallbearers will be Greg Hamilton, Kenny Knoll, Rick Smoley, Larry Kunkel, Keith Markwardt and John Hurrle. Julene Faber, organist and Heather Smoley, vocalist will provide the music for the service. Arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
