Obituary
Walter J. Powers, age 87, formerly of Maple Lake, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at his residence in St. Cloud.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Maple Lake with Rev. Bridget Haefner officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to services at the Church.
Walter John Powers was born January 3, 1921 at Annandale to John Sr. and Bertha (Rathje) Powers. He married Lois K. Sheldon on August 31, 1938 in Farnamville, IA and she preceded him in death on February 12, 1983. He married Marcy Robertson on June 20, 1986 in St. Cloud. Walt worked in various positions for Wright-Hennepin Co-op Electric Association for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He had served on the Maple Lake City Council and was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ & the Maple Lake Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Marcy Robertson-Powers of St. Cloud; children, Kathleen Dvorak & husband Joe of St. Cloud, Walter Jr. & wife Hallie of Port Charlotte, FL, Robert & fiancA
