Obituary

Violetta "Vi" Luetgers, age 82, of Maple Lake, died Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake with visitation one hour prior to the service. Melody Warren will officiate. Burial will take place 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery, Belle River.

Violetta Katherine Botzet was born on April 19, 1943, in Alexandria, Minnesota, to Nick and Annie (Becker) Botzet. Vi's journey through life was marked by her unwavering love for family, her warm spirit, and her countless contributions to the community.

Vi grew up in Miltona, where she graduated with the Class of 1961 from Alexandria High School. On November 22, 1962, she was united in marriage to Wayne Luetgers at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River. They lived in Minneapolis, Dayton, and Buffalo. In 1975, they moved to their current home near Maple Lake, where they raised their family.

In addition to caring for her family, Vi worked many jobs over the years. She was a school bus driver in the Annandale School District, worked for Carlson Dolls in Maple Lake, and for American Family Insurance in Monticello.

Vi found joy in many activities that enriched her life. She loved spending time with her beloved cats, nurturing her floral garden, watching television, embarking on family camping trips, and traveling. Vi was an avid reader, who even penned a book, illustrating her creative talents and her desire to share her stories with the world.

Vi was a woman of faith, faithfully attending Hour of Power from the Crystal Cathedral, allowing her to connect spiritually in the comfort of her home. Family was always at the center of her life; she cherished every moment spent with her husband, their children, and their grandchildren. The love and laughter shared within their family will forever remain a testament to her nurturing spirit. Her impact on those around her will be felt for years to come, as her legacy of love and kindness lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Vi is survived by her husband, Wayne; son, Dave (Linda) of Clearwater; daughter, Vicki (Dave) Kramer of Maple Lake; six grandchildren, Zach, Ally (Darek), Hope, Justin (Yukimi), Carolyn, and Kyle (Distany); 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin Botzet of Alexandria; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Annie Botzet; sister, LaVerna Kaufman; brother, Harvey Botzet; infant brother, James Botzet; and sister-in-law, Pat Botzet.

Dave Luetgers, Dave Kramer, Ally Nielsen, and Hope Kramer will serve as urn bearers. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
