Violet L. Gillman, age 85, of Kimball, died on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins under the care of hospice.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 with Memorial Services held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Kimball United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Felska officiating. Burial will be held at Coleraine Cemetery, Coleraine, MN.
Violet Lorraine Gillman was born March 1, 1928 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to Ray and Grace (Christianson) Watt. Violet graduated high school from Grand Rapids High School with the class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Gerald Helof Gillman on October 9, 1948 in. Over the years, Violet worked at various companies in their accounting/payroll departments. She was active in the Kimball United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's group. Violet enjoyed reading, crafts, and puzzles.
Violet is survived by her sons and their wives, Daniel & Cheryl of Sunderland, Massachusetts, Gerald & Debra of South Haven, MN and Kevin & Kathryn of St. Paul, MN; 7 grandchildren, Jessia Morris, Brett, Devin, Andrea, Vanessa, Eileen, and Burton Gillman; 5 great grandchildren, Nieve Morris, Caitlyn and Ethan Gillman, Diego Gillman Loyaluna, and Patrick Gillman; siblings, Marie McWilliams of Grand Rapids, MN, Ruth Goodell of Remer, MN and Donald Watt of Grand Rapids, MN. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Leta Horn, Walter Watt, Eleanor Kennedy, Charlotte Riley and Lena Bottineau.
Sandy Brown and Rose Holmblum will provide the music for the service. The arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
