Viola M. Frederick, age 100, of Annandale died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale with Pastor Dave Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at the Cokato Finnish Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service, Friday, at the church.
Viola Marie Frederick was born January 27, 1913 in Middle River to Walter and Anna (Nicka) Matsen. She was united in marriage to Clifford Widlund & he preceded her in death; she was later united in marriage to Lawrence Frederick and he also preceded her in death. She lived most of her life in Annandale, living a short time in Minneapolis and Walker. Viola owned and operated Mom's Café in South Haven in the 1950s and went on to work at the Twin Cities Arsenal in New Brighton. She was a former member of the Walker Legion Auxiliary. Viola enjoyed fishing, traveling, wintering in Arizona and Summering in Annandale.
She is survived by her daughter Caroline Rimer of Robbinsdale; 5 grandchildren Richard Rimer, Randy Rimer, Ronda Held, Robbie Rimer and Rona Nesser; 8 great grandchildren; brother Kenneth (Barb) Lantto of Edina; and sister Betty Jane (Clinton) Lambert of Buffalo. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence and Clifford; parents Walter and Anna; 3 infant sons; 10 brothers; and 5 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Richard J. III, Christopher, Justin and Tanya Rimer, Nick Listul, Joey Nesser, Ryan Held and Tara Nesser. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
