Vernon F. Marschel, age 83 of Annandale died Thursday, November 26, 2009 at the Cokato Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Pastor Steven K. Thorson will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service, Tuesday at the funeral home.
Vernon Fredrick Marschel was born January 12, 1926 in Buffalo to William and Freida (Kiphuth) Marschel. He was united in marriage to Gladys Maurer on June 23, 1944 in Annandale. Vernon worked as a fork lift operator for over 30 years at Model Stone in Minneapolis, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards and bingo, snowmobiling and going to casinos.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; children, William (Karen) of Annandale, Johnny of Aitkin and Sue (Steve) Raymond of Maple Lake; sisters, Arliene Huikko of Annandale, Lillian (Ervin) Walters of Watkins and Joyce Nelson of Annandale; five grandchildren, Chris, Kim, Thomas, Gregory and Stephanie; seven great grandchildren, Amanda, Tahlia, J.T., Janelle, Amelia, Dylan and Alexander. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Roy, Arnold, Ben and Delbert.
Pallbearers will be Duane, David, Alan and Chris Marschel, Kenny Nelson and Jason Hansen. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
