Verna V. Kyllonen, age 89, of 12665 20th Street NW, Annandale died Saturday, February 9, 2008 at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, French Lake with Rev. Edward Groop officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, French Lake Township, Wright County. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 6 p.m. Thursday.
Verna Violet Kyllonen was born March 4, 1918 to Adolph and Hannah (Solmonson) Laitinen. She married Ben Kyllonen on December 13, 1941 and he preceded her in death on January 13, 1993. She was a bookkeeper for the West Albion Creamery and then for Alama & Bajari Construction. Verna was a lifelong member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church where she served as organist for over 50 years. She was a member of the Annandale History Club, Pioneer Park, and the Red Hat Society. She also served many years as French Lake Township Clerk.
Son, Kenneth & his wife Dyane of New Hope, daughter, Erla of Annandale; 5 grandchildren, Kara, Teri, Kristine, Troy & Rebecca; and 10 great grandchildren survive her.
The pallbearers will be Joe, Bill, & Mark Lantto, Clair Nelson, Neil Korhonen, and Christopher Atencio. Margaret Groop will provide the music for the service and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
