Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Albion Evangelical Free Church, Cokato, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Kevin Sorensen will officiate. Burial to follow at Albion Evangelical Free Cemetery. Troy David Nelson was born on May 29, 1965, in Litchfield, Minnesota, to Lawrence and Sharon (Blad) Nelson. Troy was raised in Cokato, where he graduated from high school in 1983. For much of his life, Troy worked as a welder, then a commercial truck driver.
Troy's heart found it’s home on June 8, 2002, when he married his soulmate, Jane Bradley, at Buffalo Free Church. Together, they nurtured a life filled with love and laughter in Albion Township for the past 25 years. Troy grew up attending Albion Evangelical Free Church and returned to the congregation after spending a decade attending Buffalo Free Church. He was also a member of the Northland Oliver Tractor Club.
In his free time, Troy enjoyed camping, woodworking, and tinkering in his shed. He liked to watch television, enjoying his favorite shows on the Hallmark channel, and spending time with his grandchildren and dog, Rusty. He had a special talent for cooking, particularly his beloved bread, and took joy in sharing meals with friends and family.
Troy is survived by his wife, Jane; siblings, Jay (Carol), Melody, and Heath (Meghann); stepchildren, James (Candice), Janet (Amanda) and Bobby (Jeanette); step-grandchildren, Carter, Ellie, Natalie, Jayden, Logan, Madison, Rylie, Noah, Peyton, Brayden and Hayley; stepfather, Stan Diers of Howard Lake; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Nelson; and mother, Sharon Diers.
Troy's step grandchildren will serve as urn bearers. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
