Tresa I. Young, age 89 of South Haven, formerly of Kimball died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Lakeside Community Home of Dassel, where she was a resident for the past two weeks.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2009 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Kimball. Fr. Donald Wagner will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Litchfield. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball. A prayer service will be held 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Tresa Irene Young was born on October 9, 1919 in Meeker County to Timothy and Florence (Gilman) Miller. She married Leo P. Young on April 18, 1936 in Darwin and he preceded her in death on October 8, 1998. She lived in Meeker County most of her life where they farmed and raised 10 children. Tresa worked at Travelers Inn and Nortronic in Golden Valley. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Kimball. Tresa enjoyed baking bread, pies and donuts, playing cards, ice fishing and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Carol & Raymond Wagner of Dassel, Leo & Patricia of Coon Rapids, Douglas & Leona of Watkins, Dorothy & Joseph Wolter of Sartell, Mary & Robert Vannurden of Kimball, Elizabeth Bryant of International Falls, Patricia & Donald Linz of Richmond and Darrell of South Haven; brother, Chuck of Sun City, AZ; sisters, Ann Nelson of Phoenix, AZ, Mae & Al Harrison of Denver, CO; 37 grandchildren; 95 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo; sons, David and Robert; parents, Timothy and Florence; brother, Bud Miller; sisters, Lorena Stiff and Grace Hartinger.
Pallbearers will be Adam Holm, Jordan Dietz, Jamie Pfitzer, Jordan Young, Timothy Krouth and Jonathan Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Catherine Krouth, Deneen Young, Irene Shoutz, Lisa Myers, Stacy Samuelson, Peggy Holm, Tresa Ringwelski, Dawn Pfitzer and Becky Darwin. Frosty Schiefelbein, organist, and the St. Anne Choir will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Kimball.
