Thomas Allan Zipoy was born on February 1, 1966, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Allan "Zip" and Shirley (Marohn) Zipoy. As a young boy, the Zipoy family moved from the Metro to the Kimball area. Tom was confirmed in his faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kimball. He attended high school at St. John's Prepatory School in Collegeville, graduating in 1984. He then obtained his bachelor's degree in accounting at St. John's University and certified public accountant license in 1988. He then went on to earn his doctoral law degree from the University of Minnesota in 1992. After some years of practicing law, he began his private practice, Zipoy Law Office in St. Augusta. During which he helped operate and eventually co-own Zips Diesel Injection Service.
On June 17, 1995, he was united in marriage to Sarah Lee Peglow at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kimball. Together, they made their home outside of Kimball, where they raised their two children, John Thomas and Julia Elizabeth.
Tom was accomplished by dedicating himself to the pursuit of knowledge. He positively impacted the lives of many by working tirelessly to uphold justice and defend the rights of clients. He was a former board member of the Good Shepherd Community, Kimball Lions Club, and instrumental member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tom will be fondly remembered for the subtleness of his kind soul. His witty nature and servant heart to those he loved will forever inspire. He found solace and joy in being an outdoorsman, camping with his family, and completing crossword puzzles. His love for nature was amplified at the cabin, where he would create lasting memories with loved ones including his canine best friend, Ace.
