Terrance "Jake" D. Jacobson Sr., age 64, of South Haven died Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm Monday, April 21 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Terrance D. Jacobson Sr. was born May 18, 1949 in Minneapolis, MN to Richard Edwin and Ilamae Francis (Wages) Jacobson. Jake attended school at Hopkins High School graduating with the class of 1967. Following high school, Terrance honorably served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. Jake attended North Hennepin Community College where he obtained his A.A. degree. Terrance was united in marriage to Colleen Kaye Clark on October 26, 1974 at St. Martin's by the Lake Episcopal Church in Wayzata. In 1978, Terrance and Colleen moved to their home in South Haven, where they raised horses. Jake was self-employed as a horse farrier. In his spare time, Terrance enjoyed playing music on his banjo and guitar, riding horses, deer hunting, creating works of art, playing baseball in his younger years, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. Terrance's greatest enjoyment was the time he spent with his family, especially his granddaughter, Stephanie.
He is survived by his sons, Zachary of Menominee, WI, Ezra of South Haven and Terry D. of South Haven; granddaughter, Stephanie; brothers, Richard E. of Ogilvie and Jay of Hopkins. Terrance was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen, parents, Richard and Ilamae, and sister, Dawn.
Zack, Ezra, Terry, Jay and Richard Jacobson and Bill Bangtson will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
