Steven J. Carriveau, age 45, of Maple Lake died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at North Memorial Hospice, Robbinsdale after a brief but painful battle with cancer. Words cannot begin to express the gratitude Steve felt for the love and support offered to him by family, friends & community during this time.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2006 at Silver Creek Community Church with Rev. Bob VanderVord officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Creek. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 4 p.m. Sunday.
Steven Joseph Carriveau was born December 23, 1960 in Buffalo to Joseph and Pat (Fennema) Carriveau. He graduated from Annandale High School in 1979 and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served from 1981-1984. Steve married Brenda (Vandergon) Geyen on April 12, 1986 in Silver Creek Community Church. He remained in the Maple Lake area while working in retail management positions with Holiday, Cenex & Crystal Pierz Marine. Steve`s last position was as assistant manager of the Coborn`s Store in Clearwater.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Maple Lake; children, Carl Geyen of St. Paul, April & Kasie Carriveau of Maple Lake; father, Joseph (Irene) Carriveau of St. Paul; mother, Pat Carriveau of St. Cloud; sister, Julie (Dan) Scheevel of Litchfield, Sue Simon of Bloomington, Joann (Scott) Georges of Delano, brother, David Carriveau of East Bethel & his fiancAC., Shayni. His grandparents, Harry & Marguerite Carriveau preceded him in death.
