Shirley A. Lantto, age 91, of French Lake Township, died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A walk through visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Dingmann Funeral Chapel in Annandale. A private funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in French Lake with Rev. Delroy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, French Lake. The funeral will be livestreamed. Shirley Ann Lantto was born November 16, 1929 in French Lake Township to Axel and Thilda (Forsberg) Martinson. She graduated from Annandale High School. On November 4, 1950, Shirley was united in marriage to Matt Lantto in Minneapolis. They lived and raised their family in French Lake, where they owned and operated a farm. In addition to caring for the home and raising her children, Shirley also worked the farm alongside her husband, Matt. They were members of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Shirley enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and baking. The joy of her life was her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her husband, Matt of Annandale; children, Joyce Lantto of Minneapolis, Patricia Lantto of Hutchinson, Carol Lantto-Adams (Cedric Adams) of St. Paul, Gary (Darlene) Lantto of Annandale, Nancy (Ronald) Rome of Annandale and Mike Lantto of Annandale; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and sister, Betty (Richard) Nordling of Columbia Heights. She was preceded in death by her parents, Axel and Thilda Martinson; brother, Glen Martinson; and granddaughter, Robin Robasse. The casketbearers will be Mike, Gary, Eric, Ryan and Alec Lantto and Kevin Claflin. Jessica Lantto and Margaret Groop will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
