Shirley Ann Wills was born on November 15, 1934 in South Haven to Alex and Ida (Schmidt) Marquardt. She lived all her life in the Fair Haven and Kimball area. Shirley graduated from Kimball High School with the class of 1952. Shirley was united in marriage to Darrel Wills on January 15, 1955 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in South Haven. She worked for Bell Telephone Company in Minneapolis for several years and later Shirley worked as a secretary for Kimball Area Schools for 17 years.
Shirley traveled to many interesting places with Darrel. She especially enjoyed going on camping trips with her grandchildren. With the grandkids they always stopped to see the Biggest Ball of Twine in Darwin. Shirley loved rummage sales, the swapper's meet, and collecting old dishes and teapots. She was a very artistic lady and liked to paint and stencil, and spend time gardening. Shirley was a wonderful grandma and loved to do whatever the grandkids were doing. She was involved in a variety of activities in both her church and community.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 57 years Darrel of Kimball; sons Steve (Cindy) & Doug (Julie) of Fair Haven, Tim (Doreen) of Kimball; 9 grandchildren Nicole, Jason, Jesse, Michael, Brian, Chad, Courtney, Dustin & Megan; 3 great grandchildren Vayda, Aiden & Lily; sister & brother-in-law, Arlayne (Charles) Hunt of Fair Haven; and sister-in-law, Audrey Marquardt of Kimball. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Marquardt, and son & daughter-in-law Robert & Pamela Wills.
Shirley's grandchildren will be honorary urnbearers and the music for the service will be provided by Joyce Albert & Lori Miller. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
