Shirley A. Dillon, age 70 of South Haven, died Monday, October 26, 2009 at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fair Haven with Rev. Timothy Nerud officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, Thursday at the church.
Shirley Ann Dillon was born May 2, 1939 in Warren to Archie and Pearl (Tatro) Sommers. She graduated from Warren High School in 1957 and went on to graduate from Minneapolis Business College. On October 31, 1959, Shirley married David Dillon in Warren. Together, they lived in Princeton until moving to South Haven in 1970. She worked for Electrolux as a silver solder for 30 years, retiring on January 30, 2009. Shirley enjoyed gardening, sewing, feeding and watching the birds, spending time with her grandchildren and going to the family cabin.
She is survived by her five children, Calvin (Darlene) of Annandale, Dennis of South Haven, Kim (Jim) Combs of South Haven, Shellie Bratton of Annandale and Daren of South Haven; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Amy, Miranda, Dillon, Jasmine, Jessica and Trevor; and a great grandson, Aiden. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Gorden and Paul Sommers.
Her family will serve as urnbearers. The music will be provided by Laura Thurk. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
