Shirley A. Thompson, age 82, of South Haven died Monday, August 15, 2022 at her home on Lake Marie. A private celebration of life will be held at a later time at Shirley's home. Shirley Ann Thompson was born March 12, 1940 in Wausau, WI to Carl and Elsie Braatz. She grew up Wausau, WI and Hopkins, MN. Shirley graduated with the Class of 1958 from Eisenhower High School in Hopkins. She lived in Hopkins and Loretto prior to moving to the shores of Lake Marie near South Haven. Shirley enjoyed gardening, going for walks, boating, working on arts and crafts, and decorating and maintaining her home. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Ghostley of Rockford; son, Daniel (Lori) Haft of Oak Grove; grandchildren, Jesse, Joshua and Chad Ghostley, Felicia (Chad) Goffin, and Brianna and Brooklyn Haft; great-grandchildren, Aidyn, Mason and Mia Ghostley, Jacob and Lacey Goffin, and Bentley Gill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Elsie Braatz; husband, Lynden Thompson; and brother, Glenn Braatz.
