Shirlee I. Nelson, age 85 of South Haven died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 in St. Cloud.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale. Entombment will be in the St. Anne Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Parish prayers will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Shirlee Ione Marie Nelson was born April 26, 1923 in Minneapolis to Albert W. and Eva (Dean) Breuninger. She married Millard H. Nelson on August 23, 1941 at St. Bridgett's Catholic Church in North Minneapolis. Shirlee worked as a bank teller at Bank of America in Oakland, CA during WWII, and Camden Bank in North Minneapolis after the war. They then moved to South Haven, where they raised their family. She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and the South Haven VFW Post 7332 Ladies Auxiliary. Shirlee enjoyed sewing, needlework and her family.

Shirlee is survived by her husband of 67 years, Millard; children, Terry (Patty) of Kimball, Tim (JoAnne) of Rockford, Sheree Lee (significant other, Jim Schmitz) of South Haven and Mike (Kris) of South Haven; sister, Gayle Cichoski of Zimmerman; fourteen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and 6 step great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Diane Greely; sister, Edna Nelson; and brother, James Breuninger.

Sarah Goelz, pianist and Alison Totz, soloist will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
