Seward M. Meintsma, Jr. age 66, of Springfield, Missouri, died Saturday, December 18, 2021 at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Lakeview Cemetery in Silver Creek Township, near Maple Lake, Minnesota. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the Maple Lake American Legion and VFW Honor Guard. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale, Minnesota.
Seward Mortimer Meintsma, Jr. was born at Ellsworth AFB in Rapid City, South Dakota to Seward and Nellye (Cross) Meintsma. He served his country in Afghanistan as an officer of the U.S. Navy. Seward earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma and worked as a civil engineer for the City of Springfield, MO.
He is survived by his sisters and brother, Charissa Meintsma of San Francisco, CA, Ruth Meintsma of Park City, UT, Nellie (Will) Worthwine of Boise, ID and Diederic Meintsma of Salt Lake City, UT; nieces, Joesephine Lawrence and Kassidy Carranza; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Seward and Nellye Meintsma.
