Ruthie E. Eder, age 81, of Kimball, died Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Church of Christ, Kimball with Pastor Kevin White officiating.  Burial will follow at Kimball Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to the service, Saturday at the church.

Ruthie Eleanor Eder was born November 25, 1933 in Kimball to Marvin and Carrie (Van Nurden) Stelton.  She grew up in Kimball and graduated from Kimball High School with the Class of 1951.  On April 19, 1952, Ruthie was united in marriage to Benjamin John Eder.  She raised her family and farmed with her husband in Maine Prairie Township.  Ruthie enjoyed gardening, listening to the musicians that would come sing at Hilltop and simply being outside with her cat, Garfield, sitting on her lap. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children & their spouses Debbie & Larry Valiant of Forest City, John & Lynette Eder of Kimball, Gwen & Gary Koshiol of St. Stephen and Robin & Mike Ferrian of Kimball; sisters Jean Froehling & her husband Joe of Excelsior and Betty Lou Hoeft of Kimball; 8 grandchildren Charity Valiant, Stephanie Neuman, Keith, Kevin & Nicholas Koshiol, Jessica Laue, Amanda Gageby and Hailey Ferrian; 4 great grandchildren Joey & Brianna Neuman and Brooklyn & Tayleigh Koshiol.  She is preceded in death by her husband Ben; parents Marvin and Carrie Stelton; sister Janet Eckman; and infant twin brother Ronald Stelton.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the entire staff of Hilltop Care Center for all the love and care provided for Ruthie. Pallbearers will be Ruthie's eight grandchildren. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
