Ruth E. Marschel, age 79, of Annandale died Monday, October 13, 2008 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. DJ Lura officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Ruth Elaine Marschel was born June 8, 1929 in French Lake Township, Wright County to Ernest and Josie (Olean) Gunderson. She married Delbert Marschel October 15, 1949 in Annandale and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2005. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed ball games, camping, fishing, card playing, and going to the casino.
She is survived by her nine children, Nancy (Les) Rotz of Pelican Rapids, Janice (John) Earl of Annandale, Debra (Wayne) Clark of Annandale, Kevin (Linda) Marschel of Maple Lake, Ronald of Annandale, Roger (Linda) of Big Lake, Alan of Annandale, Lori (Scott) Fleischacker of Annandale, Randy (Karla) of Howard Lake; sister, Helen (Oscar) Jatko of Cokato; sister in law, Elaine Engen of Perham; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Her husband and brother Arnold Gunderson preceded her in death.
The pallbearers will be grandchildren, Philip & Paul Rotz, Eric Brauch, Matt, Katie and Ryan Marschel. The honorary pallbearers will be her other grandchildren, Staci Haiby, Liz Kroshus, Jessica Narozny, Ashley, Kristin, Candice, Nathan, Kaitlyn & Madison Marschel, Adam & Sam Fleischacker. The organist will be Orma Lou Jacobsma and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
