Mrs. Ruth E. Lorentz, age 84, of Annandale died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at Lake Ridge Care Center, Buffalo.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Maple Lake with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey B. Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday. There will be a prayer service 7:00 p.m. Monday.

Ruth Edna Lorentz was born December 12, 1920 in Silver Creek Township, Wright County to Herbert and Josephine (Juel) Borchardt. She married Arnold A. Lorentz May 19, 1945 in Silver Creek and he preceded her in death July 24, 1990. Ruth lived in the Annandale area for 60 years where she was a homemaker, farmer`s wife and also worked a short time for Wonderalls in Buffalo. She was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Maple Lake where she was active in the Women`s Guild. Ruth loved her family, enjoyed playing cards, fishing, creating unique crafts, baking birthday cakes, gardening, quilting, nurturing people and plants, and hugging everyone. She will be fondly remembered for her loving dedication to her family and friends. The family wishes to thank those who have extended their loving thoughts and prayers.

Ruth is survived by eight children and their spouses, Richard (Jenny) of Buffalo, Judy (Paul) Bishman of Chaska, Dennis (Mary Jo) of Buffalo, Jane (Larry) Elsenpeter of Clearwater, Gloria Brabant of Mound, Gail Uecker of Howard Lake, Bruce (Helen) of Lester Prairie, and Ted (Joy) of Annandale; sister, Adeline Chapman of Maple Lake; 24 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. She also leaves many loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Ruth; brother, Cornelius; sisters, Gertrude Brown and Margaret Klemz; and daughter in law, Luann Lorentz.

Pallbearers will be Briita Lorentz, Josh Bishman, Tony Lorentz, Arnie Elsenpeter, Chad Brabant, Jason Uecker, Scott Lorentz, and Andy Lorentz. Music for the funeral provided by Joanne Zander and Myrna Jude.

Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
