Ruth E. Sellnow, age 94, of Annandale, formerly of Staples, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Annandale United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Felska officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Ruth Eva Sellnow was born December 23, 1920 in Hill City, Minnesota to James and Hilma (Anderson) Haskin. As a young girl she moved with her family to the Staples, Minnesota area. She attended and graduated from Staples with the Class of 1940. On August 22, 1940 she was united in marriage to Edward Carl Sellnow. They continued to make their home in Staples and raise their family. Following Ed's death, Ruth moved to Annandale to be closer to family. Ruth was a member of the Annandale United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed playing cards, spending time in her beautiful flower gardens, and bird watching. She also enjoyed  knitting and making quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nothing was treasured more to Ruth than the time she was able to spend with her family.

Ruth is survived by her children, Gerald (Sandy) of Citrus Heights, California, Sandie (Lee) Bollenbacher of Hattieville, Arkansas, Janell (Craig) Dezell of Annandale, and Karen Barron of Brainerd; daughter-in-law, Judi of St. Louis Park, 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Byron "Bud" (Betty) Haskin of Staples; sister-in-law, June Haskin of Winthrop; and nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 infant sons, son, Ron, and brother, LeRoy Haskin.
