Russell F. Rassat, age 76, of Maple Lake died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at North Memorial Hospice, Robbinsdale.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2007 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Michael Izen officiating. Interment will follow in the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery, Little Falls. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Russell F. Rassat was born October 24, 1931 in St. Cloud to the Joseph and Julia (Elsenpeter) Rassat. In 1950 he graduated from Maple Lake High School and then served his Country as a member of the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. For 30 years he worked as a cement finisher for Metro Curbing, retiring in 1992. Russell was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church. He was a member of Operative Plasterers & Cement Masons Local #633.
He is survived by sister, Geraldine Cariens of Evansville, IN; brother in law, Willard Leinonen of Annandale; nephews, Steven Leinonen of Annandale, Gerald Leinonen of Zimmerman, Richard Cariens Jr. of Evansville, IN; nieces, Sharon Lucas of Spicer, Gwenn Elmblad of L'Anse, MI, Sheila Demarais of Swatara, Gail Sindt of Vadnais Heights, and Kathleen Marley of Evansville, IN. His sister Kathleen Leinonen and brother in law Richard Cariens preceded him in death.
The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
