Ruby C. Walberg, age 92, of Annandale died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Pastor Jerry Seehusen officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, French Lake Township, Wright County. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Friday.
Ruby Caroline Walberg was born October 18, 1916 in Minneapolis to John and Anna 'Lena' (Byur) Anderson. She lived a short time in Minneapolis and then moved to Cokato where she attended North Grass Lake School. She then moved with her parents to French Lake Township where she finished her schooling. She married Alden F. Walberg on October 15, 1938 and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1995. Together they farmed and she later worked in various places in Annandale. She then worked for Leaf Brothers Laundry, Minneapolis and at the Cokato Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and took part in the Mission Aid and served on the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery Board. She loved attending church services, embroidery, and word puzzles. She loved her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She is survived by her four sons Roger (Annette) of Aitkin, Marvin of Waite Park, Howard (Cheri) of Annandale, Dennis of Annandale, brother Vernon (Phyllis) Anderson of Minneapolis, sister in law Jeanette Anderson of Minneapolis, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter in law Joan Walberg, brother John LeRoy Anderson, sister Laura Opsahl, and brother in law John Opsahl.
The pallbearers will be Richard, Loren, Kipp, Kirk & Bruce Walberg, Barry Hoekstra and Dan Snell. The music for the service will be provided by Bev Sorenson and Orma Lou Jacobsma. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
