Obituary

Rose M. Wurm, age 90, of Monticello, former longtime resident of Maple Lake, died Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Kevin Magner as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. on Wednesday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake.

Rose Marie Demarais was born on June 22, 1935, in Waverly, Minnesota, to Ovide and Helen (Beauchamp) Demarais. Rose graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1953. She married Donald Wurm, on June 23, 1956, at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. Together, they raised their five children in Maple Lake.

Rose's professional life was marked by dedication and diligence as she worked for 31 years as an administrative assistant for Prudential Insurance and Jude Vending. But it was her role as a mother and grandmother that defined her gentle nature and loving heart.

A committed member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Rose's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She actively participated in the CCW, Resurrection Choir, served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a proud member of the Catholic Foresters. In Maple Lake, she actively contributed through the VFW Auxiliary, Legion Auxiliary, Maple Manor Board, and Senior Citizen Club. Rose found joy in bowling, dancing, playing cards, and completing puzzles and word finds.

She is survived by her children, William of Maple Lake, Dale of Maple Lake, Brenda Jude of Clearwater, Donna (Vince) Lloyd of Woodbury, and Neal (DeEtte) of St. Cloud; 8 grandchildren, Nathan (Jen) Wurm, Jason (Kari) Jude, Eric (Kelsey) Wurm, Brittany (Jack) Sullivan, Jonathan Jude, Amber Jude, Kristin Wurm, and Leah (Will) Hammer; 11 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Addisyn, Ayva, Kaesyn, Berklee, Ivory, Judson, Poppy, Declan, Mina, and Matthew; sister, Carol Mae (Robert) Wurm of Maple Lake; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Don; baby girl, Marie; parents, Ovide and Helen; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lori Demarais.

Rose's grandchildren will serve as casket bearers. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
