Ronald R. Leitz, age 67, of Maple Lake died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at the Buffalo Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Fr. Michael Izen and Dec. Ron Freeman will officiate and burial will be in St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Prayer Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ronald Richard Leitz was born January 10, 1941 in Duluth to Robert and Clara (Karulak) Leitz. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Clara and Robert Peterson. Ronald was married to Barbara Buchanan on July 20, 1963 in Virginia, MN. He worked for the Star Tribune in Minneapolis as a boiler engineer for 18 years, before retiring in 1990. Ronald was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing the accordion, traveling and spending time with family, especially his son.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Barbara of Maple Lake. He is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Dick in 1987.

Pallbearers will be Larry Thomsen, Bob Ahonen, Bud Vandergon, Tim & Timmy Alwes, and Connie Welch-Smith. Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service. Services are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
