Ronald R. Hansen, age 75, of Darwin, formerly of Annandale, died Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield, due to complications from glioblastoma treatments.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale with Fr. Kevin Magner as Celebrant. A luncheon will follow at the church with burial occurring at a later date at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Ronald Robert Hansen was born on November 16, 1950, in New Richmond, Wisconsin, to Nels and Gloria (Sandmann) Hansen. He was raised on a dairy farm in New Richmond along with his three siblings. After graduating from high school in 1969, Ron continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on a wrestling scholarship. On July 19, 1975, he married Mary J. Mehr at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Minnesota. Together, they built a warm and loving home in Annandale, where they raised their three children.

Ron's professional journey began at Brown, Boveri, and Cie, which included an opportunity to work in Brazil. He later dedicated over twenty years to Appert's in St. Cloud as an independent route driver. Following his retirement from sales, Ron shared his friendly smile with kids by driving for M&M Bus in Annandale from 2003 to 2017. He then proudly served Litchfield and the surrounding communities by driving for Central Community Transit until 2023.

A dedicated family man, Ron poured his heart into creating countless memories. He was a deeply loving and supportive father and grandfather who never missed a chance to cheer on his family and support them in their endeavors. He loved coaching his son, Chad, and his friends in sports, and he remained the ultimate supporter of his grandkids, proudly attending all their activities.

An avid outdoorsman, Ron loved hunting ducks and pheasants, training his hunting dogs, fishing, and taking peaceful walks and jogs. He loved the outdoors, but what made his favorite hobbies truly special was sharing them with his family. His happiest moments were spent at the lake with family and friends, sharing the outdoors at every opportunity. His deep appreciation for nature and community was reflected in his memberships over the years, including St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale Conservation Club, NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Darwin Lions Club, and Darwin Rod and Gun Club.

Ron lived a full life defined by love, dedication, and a deep commitment to God and his family. Known for his quick wit, excellent sense of humor, and contagious laugh, he brought joy to those around him and faced his cancer diagnosis with inspiring positivity until the very end.

Ron is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary of Darwin; children, Alicia (Sam) Millner of South Haven, Chad (Sarah) Hansen of Corcoran, and Erica Hansen of St. Joseph; his adoring grandchildren, Zach, Nora, Sonja, Theresa, Madison, and Morgan; siblings, Sharon (Lee) Balcerek of Deer Park, WI and Shirley Wester of Little Canada; and nieces, nephews, other family members and countless dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard.

Clint Wester, Jack Sudyk, Al Heinen, and Zach Millner will serve as urn bearers. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
