Ronald Leonell Fremstad was born May 28, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Joseph Leonell and Florence Marie (Jacobson) Fremstad. Ron attended school in Minneapolis, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1952. He honorably served his country for 8 years as part of the US Naval Air Reserves. Ron worked in the Physics Department at the University of Minnesota as a machinist, retiring in 1997 after 33 years of work. Upon retirement, Ron and Marilyn moved to the Bass Lake area of Annandale. According to Ron, this began the best years of his life. Thanks in part to God's gifts to him, his wife, Marilyn, and the kindness and friendship of the Clint and Curt Olson families, along with all the good people he and Marilyn met in the Annandale Area. In Ron's words, "Thanks again and goodbye for now". Ron belonged to the Annandale Conservation Club, in addition to his support of Pioneer Park and the Crossroads Animal Shelter in Buffalo. He enjoyed trapshooting, music in his younger years, and trains. Ron liked reading and history, and always liked to stay informed on what was happening; he had a wealth of knowledge. Above all, Ron treasured the time he was able to spend with his wife, Marilyn.
Ron is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marilyn, of Annandale; sister, Joann Lund of Seattle, Washington; and nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lee Fremstad.
