Roger B. Jarvis, age 84, of Buffalo, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by three generations of family, on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Andrew Stueve as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery in Maple Lake. Visitation will be held 2-5 p.m. on Sunday and 9-10 a.m. on Monday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral chapel.

Roger Bernard Jarvis was born January 26, 1934 in Faribault to Leo F. and Henrietta A. (Kenow) Jarvis. After high school Roger worked in the tree service and gas station industry before joining his uncle in the drywall trade. In 1969 he started his own business, Jarvis Drywall, and retired in 1990. On June 16, 1954 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth M. "Betty" Oppegard at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Faribault. Roger and Betty lived in Osseo for many years prior to purchasing a hobby farm near Buffalo in 1978. He was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Roger was known as a generous, hardworking man with a good sense of humor. He loved his family, boxing, hunting, fishing, gardening and going on family camping trips.

He is survived by his wife Betty; children Daniel (Deborah) of Annandale, Douglas (DeAnne) of Hanover, Cindy (James) Fair of Big Lake and Mary (Rick) Tessmer of St. Michael; sister Barbara (Vic) Pogue of Faribault; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Harlan.

The casket bearers will be grandsons, Mark, Joe, Luke, Justin, Anthony and Jon Jarvis, Ryan and Adam Tessmer. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
