Robert M. Morford, age 87, of Sauk Rapids died Friday, December 2, 2011 at his home at Ridgeview Place, Sauk Rapids.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Salem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud with Pastor Wayne Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery near Little Falls.  Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the service Thursday, at the Church.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Robert Murl Morford was born March 7, 1924 in Dearlock, Ontario, Canada to Robert and Bernice (Bottenfield) Morford.  He served his Country during World War II in the U.S. Army.  Bob was a POW and was awarded the Purple Heart.  On July 16, 1946 he was united in marriage to Pandora Lang in Baker, Montana.  Over the years Bob worked for Anderson Hardware, Pflepson Appliance, Len's Furniture, FMC, and the St. Cloud Hospital retiring in 1988.  He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Kimball American Legion Post 261, St. Cloud VFW Post 4847 and the Central Minnesota American Ex- POWs.  Bob enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling across the states, gardening, playing cards and spending time with his family.  Bob defined integrity in the way he lived his life.  He led by example in his commitment to work, family, friendships and his support of fellow veterans.

He is survived by his children & their spouses, Raymond & Bonnie of St. Cloud, Allen & Jeanne of Eden Prairie, Jerry & Laurie of Sedalia, MO, Glen & Vikki of St. Cloud, Marlene & Art Dingmann of Annandale, Betty & Brad Moulton of St. Joseph, Janice & Kevin Gans of Sauk Rapids and Richard & Trisha of St. Cloud; sisters, Leota Jones of Leavenworth, KS, Louise & John Hay of Cleburne, TX, Lorraine & Boyd Parker of Seguin, TX and Viola & Howard Green of Chatsworth, GA; 18 grandchildren, Joel, Julie, Jerry, Scott, Jamie, Tina, Cris, Jameson, Phillip, Steven, Kimberly, Brian, Kevin, Brad, Stacy, Brett, Jerad and Ashley; 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by Pandora (Pam) his sweetheart of 64 years; brother and sister-in-law Chester & Lena Morford, sisters and brothers-in-law Lois & Lloyd Salter, Fern & Joe Stevens, Herschel Dalby and Alva Jones; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex and Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Joel, Scott, Jamie, Phillip and Jerad Morford, Steven Dingmann, Brett Gans and Brad Mies.  Kim Morford and Cris Green will provide the music for the service.  Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care.
