Obituary
Mr. Robert L. Huikko, age 77, of Maple Lake died Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at Park View Care Center, Buffalo.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2002 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Maple Lake with Rev. Steven King officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, French Lake Township, Wright County. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral chapel in Maple Lake.
Robert Leslie Huikko was born August 22, 1925 in Annandale to Victor and Ida (Lathi) Huikko. On May 5, 1945 he married Frances L. Copeland in Waverly and she preceded him in death April 22, 2000. He served his Country during WW II in the US Army. He worked as a pipe fitter for Hopkins Plumbing and Heating, Harris Brothers, and Muller Plumbing and Heating, retiring in 1991. Robert has lived in Maple Lake since 1957 where he was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Maple Lake American Legion Post # 131, and Union Local # 539, Minneapolis. He loved his family and bowling.
Robert is survived by 13 children and their spouses, Carol (Dennis) Houser of Maple Lake, Jim (Roberta) of Buffalo, Linda of Annandale, Richard (Linda) of Annandale, Barb (Dennis) Capko of Maple Lake, Patty (John) Daniels of Bellefourche, SD, Allen (Debbie) of Buffalo, John (Mary) of Buffalo, Charlie (Debbie) of Maple Lake, Susie (Chad) Trattles of Annandale, Judy (Dean) Baker of Buffalo, Bobbi of Annandale, Tammy (Troy) Latzig of Maple Lake; 32 grandchildren, Dawn, Becky, Ed, Missy, Matt, Molly, Heather, Ryan, Heidi, David, Denny Jr, Erik, Lori, Lynda, Katie, Jerry, John, Joe, Brigett, Brooke, Brittany, Tony, Shawn, Stephanie, Sara, Karen, LeAnn, Robbi, Dustin, Travis, Tabitha, and Brandon; 18 great grandchildren, Christopher, Curtis, Carolyn, Ashley, Casandra, Brandi, Samantha, Aaron, Jordayn, Darick, Shelby, Reed, Ellyanna, Emma, Heidi, Layna, Anthony, and Breanna. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and grandson, Scotty.
Pallbearers will be Ed Houser, David Bartel, Mathew, Joe, John, Shawn, Tony, and Robbi Huikko, Ryan Schwartz, Denny Capko Jr, Eric Capko, and Gordy Gutzwiller. Music for the funeral will be provided by Becky King and Wendy Clark.
Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
