Richard M. Johnson, age 62, of Minneapolis died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with Funeral Services held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale.  The Rev. Philip Geoffrion will officiate and he & Norma Geoffrion will provide the music for the service.  Burial will follow at the Fair Haven Cemetery.

Richard "Dick" Johnson was born April 6, 1952 in St. Paul to Kenneth & Lenore (Irber) Johnson.  In 1964 he moved to Annandale with his family and in 1970 graduated from Annandale High School where he played football, golf and participated in theater and student government.  He furthered his education at Duluth Technical College, St. Paul Bible College and Minneapolis Community College. Dick was a lifelong learner, in constant training and classes. For the past 22 years, he has worked for Hennepin County, most recently as a Senior Planning analyst in Financial Analysis and Accounting Department . Dick enjoyed many outdoor activities, including biking, golfing, running, and winter sports. His friends and family enjoyed his culinary skills. But most of all, Dick was a man everyone loved. He was reserved: he withheld judgment, unsolicited opinions and negative speech. He put valuable thought and insight into his conversation. He had a great sense of humor coupled with a sly wit.

He is survived by brother in law Curt Lund of South Haven, nephew Shane (Dawn) Lund of South Haven, nieces Julie (Timothy) Ellis of Buffalo, Tamara Wikan of Minneapolis, great nephews & nieces Hunter & Payton Lund, Kendra, Avery, Matea & Walter Ellis, and Skylar Wikan.  His parents and sister Sandra Lund preceded him in death.

The pallbearers will be Curt Lund, Shane Lund, Jim Johnson, Jim Ponsford, Brad Force and Ron Jerve.  The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services.
