Richard F. Capes Sr., age 69, of South Haven, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Church of Christ, Kimball with Pastor Steve Rowland officiating.  Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow at Fairhaven Cemetery.

Richard Francis Capes was born March 5, 1945 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to William "Bud" and Elveria "Toots" (Berthiaume) Capes. Richard attended and graduated high school in Kimball. He was united in marriage to Sharon Marie Ellingson on August 9, 1968 in Milbank, South Dakota. Richard worked on the family farm. He enjoyed softball in his younger years, fishing, bowling, mowing lawn, watching sporting events on the television, and  playing cards and marbles. Above all, Richard enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Tammy Johnson (Fiance John) of Long Prairie, Juliet (Kelly) Danelke of Fair Haven, Julianna Schultz of Annandale, Rob (Bobbie) Johnson of Annandale, Richie (Stacey) Capes of South Haven, and MaryJo Capes of St. Cloud; 10 grandchildren, Josh, Boomer, Nicole, Cody, Zach, Shauni, Caitlin, Johnathan, Preston and Emma; and 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Darlene (Tom) Rosenow of Kimball and Randy Capes of Kimball. Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon and his parents.
