Mr. Raymond B. Muller, age 87, of Maple Lake died Wednesday, March 12, 2003 surrounded by his family at Ebenezer Covenant Home, Buffalo

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2003 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Father Mark Huberty officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral chapel.

Raymond Bernard Muller was born May 11, 1915 in Maple Lake to Albert B. and Ethel A. (McAlpin) Muller. He was very active and excelled in all sports. He was a member of the undefeated 1931-32 Maple Lake football teams. He was also a member of the 1932 District Basketball Championship team. After graduating from high school, Ray completed Mortuary Science training at the University of Minnesota. He became the third generation of Muller`s to operate the Muller Mortuary in Maple Lake. Ray was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Navy; he was honorable discharged in 1943 after which he went to Alaska to work on the ALCAN (Alaska-Canadian) highway until 1945. After WW II Ray started his own plumbing and heating business in Maple Lake. He married Marilyn T. Schad September 9, 1949 in Plainview; she preceded him in death October 17, 1998. Ray lived in Maple Lake all his life where he was a member of St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Father O`Brien`s Council Knights of Columbus # 3613, Maple Lake Lions Club, Maple Lake American Legion Post # 131, and served as Mayor of Maple Lake for one term. Ray loved his grandchildren and community, his generous nature, great wit, and sense of humor will be missed. He was a real man from the Greatest Generation.

Ray is survived by seven children, Alan (Michele) of Maple Lake, Chris Muller of Lexington, KY, Joe (Carol) of Monticello, Susan (Dick) Lehman of Cincinnati, Patty (Bob) Pritchett of Warsaw, IN, Dave (Kelli) of Minnetonka, Charlie (Aimee) of Rogers; 10 grandchildren. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Pallbearers will be Aaron, Jonathan, Christopher, and Benjamin Lehman, Rob and Ryan Pritchett, and Sam Muller. Honorary Pallbearers will be Max Muller, and Earl Pettis.

Music for the funeral provided by Sarah Goelz, Maggie Muller, and Christine Muller.

Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
