Peter R. Solinger, age 77, of Annandale died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at his home on Sugar Lake.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. Ray Kirtz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the St. Cloud Hospital Hospice.
Peter Richard Solinger was born November 8, 1931 at Clearwater to Alfred and Gertrude (Niesius) Solinger. He married JoAnne McNeil on October 6, 1961 in Minneapolis. Since 1990 they have lived on Sugar Lake, previously living in Lenexa, Kansas and Brooklyn Park. Peter worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 36 years, retiring in 1988 as a Supervisor. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, All Saints Catholic Church, Mesa, AZ, National Association of Retired & Veteran Railway Employees, and BNSF Veterans Association.
He is survived by his wife JoAnne of Annandale, children & their spouses, Jan & Kernan Peterschick of Zimmerman, Timothy & Sue Solinger of Des Moines, IA, Theresa "Teri" & Jann Solinger of Apple Valley, Gordon Solinger of Titusville, FL, Paul & Gena Solinger of Elk River; brother Donald (Bev) Solinger of Apple Valley; sisters Arleene Silvernail of St. Louis Park, Kathy (John) Paulson of Las Vegas, NV; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Alexa Peterschick and brothers in law Jake Silvernail and Clarence McAlpine.
The pallbearers will be Evan Peterschick, Matthew and Mark Solinger, Kami Reisinger, Crissandra & Hannah Solinger-Hillenbrand. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
