Pearl E. McAlpine, age 99, of Annandale died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Annandale Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. Andrew McAlpin and Fr. Victor Valencia Celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale and one hour prior to the service, Monday at the church. A prayer service will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pearl Elizabeth McAlpine was born in Tagus, ND on April 7, 1913 to Gilbert and Marilla (Heaton) Glaim. She grew up in Annandale, lived in New Hope for 20 years and returned to Annandale in 1978. For the past 14 years she has been a resident of Centennial Villa in Annandale. On May 5, 1932, she was united in marriage to James Edwin McAlpine in Kimball. Pearl was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, taught Catechism, and was a member of the Annandale Improvement Club since 1944. She was also a seamstress and an artist.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Tomis of Long Beach, CA, David & Nancy McAlpin of Chanhassen, Michael & Kathleen McAlpin of Annandale, Timothy & Ginger McAlpin of Marana, AZ and Patrice McAlpin of Maple Lake; daughter-in-law, Marion McAlpin of Brooklyn Park; brothers, Wilbert Glaim of Annandale and Roger & Muriel Glaim of Inglewood, FL; sister Eleanor Fair on White Bear Lake; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Glaim of Harbor City, CA; 25 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James; son, James; parents, Gilbert & Marilla; brothers, Eugene, Henry and George Glaim; sister, Stella Newby, Minnie Cheney and Jane Levitt; son-in-law, Don Tomis; and twin great grandsons.
Pearl's great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers for the service. Sarah Goelz and Anne Pribyl will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
