Pearl L. Anderson, age 91, of Annandale died Sunday, August 12, 2007 at the Lake Ridge Care Center, Buffalo.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007 at St. John`s Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, French Lake Township, Wright County. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John`s Lutheran Church. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Pearl Lillian Anderson was born January 17, 1916 at Annandale to Jacob and Eriika (Kesalahti) Ulku. She attended rural elementary school and in 1933 graduated from Annandale High School. She received her Teacher`s Training Diploma from Minnesota State Normal School and then taught in Annandale area rural schools. She married Ralph M. Anderson on December 7, 1940 in Minneapolis and he preceded her in death on July 10, 1983. For 17 years she worked for Northwestern National Life Insurance Company, Minneapolis, retiring in 1973. She was a member of St. John`s Lutheran Church and the Cokato Finnish American`s Society. She enjoyed general arts & crafts, artistic painting, sewing, quilting, and reading.
She is survived by her two children, Michael (Kathryn) Anderson of Buffalo, Lynn (Michael) Schlies of Kaukauna, WI; 3 grandsons, Christopher Schlies, Charles (Lisa) Anderson, Gregory Anderson; 2 great grandsons, Elijah & Robert; brother, John (Ruby) Ulku of Spring Park; and 3 sisters in law, Jeri Ulku, Marie Johnson & Lorraine Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Bruno & Ernest Ulku, and sisters, Anna Suutari & Irene Lambert.
The Pallbearers will be Christopher Schlies, Charles Anderson,Greg Anderson, Gary Pearson, Jerry Anderson, Clyde Ulku, Jeff Ulku, and Michael Schlies. Music will be provided by Orma Lou Jacobsma, organist and Mark Nelson and Betty Melin, soloists.
