Patrick William Ryan, age 89, of Annandale, died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Annandale Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday November 6, 2015 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Fr. George Kallumkalkudy as Celebrant. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Interment will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery near Little Falls. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
Patrick William Ryan was born November 21, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John "Jack" and Elizabeth (Brown) Ryan. He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from DeLaSalle High School with the Class of 1943. Pat honorably served his country as a Radioman 2nd Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy during WWII. On June 16, 1951, Pat was united in marriage to Kathleen Pauly at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hopkins. Pat worked for American Bridge prior to becoming a carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Buffalo. He then began Pat Ryan Oil in Maple Lake and purchased the Standard Station in Annandale. Pat was a member of the Annandale/Maple Lake Fr. O'Brien's Council Knights of Columbus and Maple Lake Lions Club. Pat volunteered at the Annandale Care Center, was an avid golfer, enjoyed reading, skiing and crossword puzzles. He loved keeping in touch with family and friends on the computer.
Pat is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathleen of Annandale; children, Anna Ryan of South Haven and Rollin (Karin) Ryan of Camarillo, CA; 2 grandchildren, Danielle Latour and Chenin Ryan; sisters, Dorothy Miller of Roseville and Jane Wiese of Denver, CO; and other family members and friends. Pat was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, James and Madelyn Ryan; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Thomas Corbett; and son-in-law, John Latour.
Danielle Latour and Chenin Ryan will serve as urnbearers. Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Sarah Goelz will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
