Patricia G. Rilea, age 56, of Maple Lake, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at her home under hospice care surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle of cancer.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Maple Lake with Pastor Peter J. Martinson officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
Patricia Genevieve Rilea was born July 14, 1955 in Minneapolis to Roderick and Ann Marie (Blanchin) Berggren. She graduated from high school with the Robbinsdale Class of 1973. Patty worked for Cargill for 12 years and for Bernatello's in Maple Lake until her failing health made her unable to work, despite her determination to be there. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and collecting movies. Patty's greatest enjoyment in life was the time she spent with family and friends, as she eagerly worked towards retirement to be able to spend more time with her grandchildren.
Patty is survived by her children, Daniel, Brian (significant other, Jamie), Nicole (significant other, Ben), Cory (significant other, Katie), and Anthony (significant other, Amanda); 14 grandchildren, Azjah, Jasmin, Ceira, Hailey, Mackenzie, Mersaydes, Dakotah, Emily, Alex, Isaac, Zayne, Sage, Dimitri and Jayden; mother, Ann Marie; brothers, Alan and Fred Berggren; sisters, Liz Berggren, Mary (Tracy) Henderson, Cathy Lenz, Cris Ericson; special nephew, Justin Iaquinto; many nieces nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Roderick and brother, Phillip and an infant brother.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Patty's many friends that help support her during her illness.
Pallbearers will be Dan, Brian, Nicole, Cory and Tony Rilea, Ben Knowles, Justin Iaquinto, and Bruce and Rob Steele. Marlene Mohwinkel, Rev. Steven King and Annette Klatt will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
